Electric Power Research Institute to carry out 500kV main transformer anti-short circuit check analysis

Since 2012, Yunnan Electric Power Research Institute has carried out the work of checking the anti-short circuit capability of transformers with the cooperation of science and technology projects and special projects. Now it has completed the checking and analysis of the anti-short circuit ability of 500kV main transformers.

In recent years, there have been many cases of transformer failure caused by the shortage of short-circuit resistance of transformers in Yunnan Power Grid. The shortage of short-circuit resistance has become one of the main causes of transformer damage.

In order to grasp the anti-short-circuit capacity of Yunnan Power Grid during the 2015 operation mode of 500kV main transformers, Yunnan Electric Power Research Institute conducted short-circuit current calculation and comparison with the design values ​​of the manufacturers in 44 sets of 500kV main transformers of Yunzhong Network and completed Self - checking Analysis of 8 Main Transformers Based on Design Structure Parameters. For the part of the transformer short-circuit the existing shortcomings of the problem, respectively, from the operation and maintenance, operation mode adjustment and overhaul aspects of the technical reform proposed strong corrective measures and recommendations.

This work is of great significance for grasping the short-circuit resistance of 500kV main transformer, finding hidden dangers ahead of time and taking appropriate measures to improve the safe operation level of the main transformer and ensure the safe and stable operation of Yunnan Power Grid.

It is reported that Yunnan Electric Power Research Institute will also be carried out one after another to run 15 years and above 220kV and 110kV old main transformer anti-short circuit capacity analysis and analysis. (Zou Dexu)
